Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama reportedly broke up this past week, but now Wilmer is denying the claims. Do you think he and Demi are still a couple—and if so what made the rumors fly?
According to Hollywood Life, it certainly sounds like the rumors stemmed from Demi’s tweet about “not needing a man.” Quite likely taken out of context, that spawned the rumor that she was through with Wilmer—or so it seems.
Wilmer Valderrama, now wants to set the record straight and let fans know that he and Demi Lovato are still very much a couple. And how did he go about setting the record straight? In a tweet, of course—the very method of communication that started the rumor (supposedly) in the first place.
“I’m amused with how elaborate speculation of someone’s indirect statements are misinterpreted in today’s thirst for unnecessary rumors,” Wilmer tweeted to his followers on Thursday.
Did anyone see Wilmer Valderrama with Demi Lovato at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday evening? No. But that certainly doesn’t mean the two had split. Robert Pattinson was there keeping company with Betty White instead of his beloved Kristen Stewart, after all.
It’s pretty ridiculous how these rumors get started and then run rampant with little to no basis whatsoever. Do you think Twitter is to blame? Should people start viewing tweets with a bit less than that proverbial grain of salt? It sounds like—especially when taken out of context—that tweets can lead to all sorts of problems.
Fortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case with Wilmer Valderrama and Demi Lovato—that is if Wilmer’s tweet can be believed.
