We’ve got the hottest boyband battle for years with both One Direction and The Wanted squaring up for US plaudits, and in recent weeks, the boys from TW have been quick to criticise 1D.
Now Max George has stepped up to the plate again, saying: “Our song is No4 in the charts. Maybe when they have a song right next to us in the charts over there, they’ll be competition.
“Whenever you see anything about One Direction their fans get a little bit angry. I guess because they’re quite young.”
Max claims “there’s no rivalry” between the bands, despite the current battle for the top spot in the US Billboard charts.
A music insider claimed that: “It’s not a good idea to start an argument with One Direction. They are working the same circuit at the moment. It’s going to be really awkward when they bump into each other.”

As it stands, The Wanted have the higher placed single with “Glad You Came”, but One Direction have both the number one AND number two album with “Up All Night”.
The release is expected to hit number one in the main Billboard 200 album charts, which would mark the first UK group in history to debut at number one with their first album.
The new Billboard 200 chart top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, March 21st.
