Well he almost does.
Both boybands are currently trying to crack America, (and doing a damn good job of it), but Tom Parker reckons 1D are becoming popular in the US more for their cute looks rather than their music.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Tom said: “One Direction will build up a big teen market. But we want to push our music, not our faces.”
“They’ll kill that teen market.I don’t really see my face on the front of a teen magazine, if I’m totally honest.”
Well he’s right in saying that they are cute, and they probably will kill the US teen market, but we also reckon their songs are pretty hot too!
What Makes You Beautiful is set for increased US radio airplay soon and it’s expected to get a top 10 listing on the mainstream billboard charts.
Fingers crossed it will chart higher than The Wanted’s “Glad You Came” which is currently at No.3, and in doing so will beat the new record which they set. (Wouldn’t that be sweet!)
