Niall’s Dad Bobby Horan has been talking with British newspaper The Mirror about his superstar son, revealing what he’s actually like away from the band.
Niall, one-fifth of the hottest boyband in the universe is actually not as confident around girls as we might think.
Bobby said:
“There are hordes of young girls around him, and not much room to breathe anywhere. He says it can be frightening. Coming out of airports and girls crowding around their cars, he’s started to get really claustrophobic.”
Talking about Harry Styles’ love for the ‘cougar’, Bobby said that Niall is happy to give the ‘ladies man’ tag to Hazza, saying:
“Harry knows how to win the girls over and charm them. But he’s a real gent, a lovely, well-mannered, well brought up lad.”
Niall’s father Bobby and mother Maura split in 1999 when he was only five, leaving him and his brother Greg to live with Maura, before both brothers eventually moved back in with Bobby.
Bobby also revealed that Niall is quite the house-husband, saying:
“He has a very soft side to him. His mother taught him to bake… he can do cupcakes. He had to look after himself a lot because I was working, so from the age of seven he had to do his own washing, his own ironing and often his own cooking.”
As he grew older, Niall started looking after himself more, and Bobby said:
“He always dressed himself well and had a nice style about him. He never left the house without making sure he looked good.”
Talking about his 2012 X Factor audition that catapulted him into worldwide fame, Bobby added:
“Niall hasn’t lived at home since the day he left for that audition. And despite his international celebrity status, he still has his own bedroom, although it is at the bottom of the garden. I converted the garage for him because his guitar playing was making such a noise and we’re so close to the house next door.”
