The Wanted And One Direction Are Sick Of Their Rivalry

They are part of the British invasion, but one band sticks out as the true global winner in the battle of the boybands – One Direction. However the tension, bad mouthing and rivalry between the two bands are starting to wear on both acts.

Tom Parker of the Wanted said:

“We don’t see each other that much but there are no problems there,”

“I think there’ll always be that comparison with ‘this person said this, and this person from that band…’. There was that with N’Sync and The Backstreet Boys, and we just take the banter on the chin.”

Parker added:

“We probably would be bigger if it wasn’t for them, but it’s fine.”

Tom took to twitter recently to express his displeasure at being snubbed by the MTV EMA’s, despite cracking the American charts as well as Europe. He felt being left of the nominations list was “bull sh*t”.

Liam Payne has also discussed the so-called frosty relationship.

“I don’t think there’s any real competition between us. They sing dance music. They’re real lads’ lads, whereas we’re just mischievous, which I think is different.”.

Still, if we are going on sales alone, One Direction come out on top, with US album and single sales, concert sales and worldwide sales too.

They are no doubt the clear favourite around the world.

Sorry, maybe the other band should be called the Unwanted.
